We had a long rough 19 mile drive on Diamond Creek Road down Peach Springs Canyon all the way to the Colorado River.
As we drove, about halfway we stopped at the Great Unconformity where the students had an opportunity to look around and take notes. Mr. Bill Hoesch (Grand Canyon researcher) had the opportunity to share with the students information about the Great Unconformity and erosion of the Grand Canyon.
Once we made it to the river, we had lunch and the students enjoyed a free time. Dr. Austin brought the students back together and had the students identify the many rock variations that are found along the river bed.
We had a late afternoon return back to Kingman, AZ where we had a nice break before going out to dinner to ABC Chinese Restaurant (the same place we went last evening).
On a sidetone:
During our short late afternoon break I took a drive to Kingman Auto Sales where they have a variety of old cars for sale. The last several days we would drive past Kingman Auto Sales and I would want to stop there and take some pictures BUT I couldn’t.
